Gunnera manicata

Description
This variety, like most Gunnera, has enormous ribbed leaves, up to 100cm across. Leaves are elegant, but coarsely toothed.

Possible Situation
They look best as specimen plants in a damp bog garden, or beside a large pond where the reflections reveal the prickly undersides of the leaves

Ideal Conditions
Prefers full sun, or partial shade with moist or boggy soil.

Temperature Tolerance
A hardy plant which should survive normal winter conditions outside, especially if protected from the hardest frosts.
