Beautiful Elephant’s ears that are not to be forgotten!

Bergenia 'Eroica'

Commonly known as Elephant’s Ears and favoured for their rich, bold, leathery foliage which brings an architectural structure to the garden; Bergenias are particularly interesting when grown with other plants that have contrasting leaf shapes and sizes.

Bergenia 'Autumn Magic'

Bergenia ‘Autumn Magic’

Flowers are beautiful clusters of nodding bells on stems which often have a red tinge, and appear in spring, apart from ‘Autumn Magic’ (left) whose blooms appear in September. They are very attractive to bees and pollinators and a great way for providing them with some sustenance when there are fewer blooms around.

As the temperatures drop and the frosty nights arrive, leaves progressively turn a darker shade of deep purple or a red-wine colour giving yet another focus of interest.
